This painting features a Landscape of a pond with a red boat tied to a tree. I have always loved painting water. One of the times I rode with my husband on his pool route, I discovered this gem near one of his customer’s houses. It is just a small pond, surrounded by trees where a flock of ducks has made its home. This type of water feature is becoming rare in the San Joaquin Valley because we are living through one of the worst drought periods in the last 100 years. I took a lot of reference photos because I intend to revisit this area in several paintings.
This painting can be viewed in person in February at the Alliance Of California Artists Gallery in Fresno, California, 2223 S. Van Ness Ave, Fresno, CA 93721 when Gail is ACA's Showcase Artist for that month.
